"... One of the standout winners of the evening is undoubtedly the conductor, Marco Balderi. He precisely knows how to elevate emotions to their peak and tell a compelling story. While Roberto Wilson's stage settings, although aesthetically beautiful, don't always facilitate an understanding of the plot, we must admit. However, with such a skilled conductor wielding the baton, the problem ceases to exist, allowing the director and conductor to work seamlessly together. The music springs to life throughout, and the lively tempo established at the opera's beginning serves to emphasize the rushed and artificial nature of the arranged marriage. The conductor exhibits remarkable sensitivity, allowing the music to unfold with grace. Intriguing narrative nuances are introduced at the start of the second act. The Paris Opera Orchestra hasn't sounded this impressive in a long time! It feels as though we're rediscovering this opera: a truly splendid revival!"

“… The National Orchestra Bordeaux Aquitaine and Choir really gave their best under the attentive direction of Marco Balderi. With a well - balance baguette, he never yields to the temptation to crush the solist under the sound mass in the finales of the two acts, and he gives life to the moments of intimacy and passionwith a lot of sensibility .”View Gallery

"... Till the final murder, tension rises, and the score finds all its expressiveness under the conduction of Marco Balderi, the only Italian of the evening, visibly at ease in this repertoire...” Theatre Graslin ( 04-2003 )
“... Balderi gave life to a brilliant and lively performance, taking care of the equilibrium between the orchestra and the voices. He was an extraordinary patner for the singers, a very rare thing in Poland. Great success for the Theater ”. Grand Theatre Lodz ( 05 - 2002 )
